Ankara The President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan talked with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about the events in Palestine and the delivery of Sputnik V vaccines to Turkey, reports Anadolu Agency (AA). The Communications Directorate at the Turkish president's office said Erdogan stressed that Turkey had shown the strictest stance against Israel's reckless attacks on Al-Quds, Gaza, Al-Aqsa and the Palestinians, and that the international community should teach Israel a lesson. Erdogan assessed as important the statement of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which pointed out the necessity of the United Nations' engagement and resolving the Middle East issue on the basis of two states, and added that an important message was that Turkey and Russia show agreement on Al-Quds. In talks with Putin, the Turkish president further said that the UN Security Council should react and send clear messages to Israel to stop the attacks before the crisis escalates further. He further stressed the need to address the idea of sending an international force to protect Palestinian civilians, and expressed confidence that Turkey and Russia would work closely together on these issues at the UN. Turkish President Putin sent an Eid greeting to the Turkish people.
